ABOUT ME
Let's get to know each other more, me first.
My name is Jaime Rebanal (any pronouns, with a preference for they/them), I'm a film director, screenwriter, producer, and critic based in Mississauga. Films have been a big part of my life since I was little, and perhaps it only fits that someone like me would end up making them at some point, eh?

I always believed that film is one of the best ways for people to experience stories from other cultures, as if they were their own. Being Filipino and queer, among my biggest passions are ensuring representation of Asian and LGBTQ+ people on the screen any way that I can. I am a graduate of Sheridan College's Bachelor of Film and Television program, where I have specialized in taking screenwriting and directing courses.

Beyond all of this, I also feel that it's important that we learn from film history so that we can learn new ways to tell our own stories by reinventing what was set in stone, but also, as someone who collects movies regularly, I find that archiving records of our own history is integral to forging new paths for the future.

I look forward to getting to know many of you, and who knows, maybe I'll be working with some of you too!
